Heather Ryder Design’s Scaled Service offers a tailored approach for clients with smaller-scale projects or minimal construction needs who wish to focus on design and furnishings while managing vendors independently. This option provides all the benefits of expert design, including budget creation, finish schedules, furniture procurement, and coordination of the final installation. While clients are responsible for overseeing contractors, electricians, and other secondary vendors, we equip you with the resources to manage them confidently and will touch base with vendors as needed. For local clients, the service includes two to three on-site check-ins to ensure everything is progressing smoothly. Scaled Service delivers stunning, personalized designs with greater client involvement in project management.

Whether you're tackling a single design decision or looking for input on a larger project, our consultations offer valuable insights to help bring your vision to life.
We absolutely adore working with HRD! With a keen eye and even keener ear, HRD undersands our family's need for function - and our aesthetic - even more than we do! HRD has helped us transform three bathrooms and our basement rec room into gorgeous spaces that we now ENJOY using! With each project, HRD presented options to give each space its own character while still maintaining cohesiveness. We so appreciate that HRD's expertise and patient guidance provides a truly collaborative process, one that has pushed us just enough stylistically to achieve results we never could have imagined! And simultaneously improving functionality - this is no more evident than in our laundry room. We were constantly tripping over laundry baskets and drying racks to reach the appliances - it was a veritable obstacle course we navigated several times each day. HRD presented a design to reconfigure the appliances without altering the plumbing, replace a too-large utility sink and closet with built-ins that would house everything we need, and a wallcovering that we fell in love with. We gained so much space, functionality, and organization, all without changing the footprint... and in the process our mindset shifted from dreading laundry days to loving being in this beautiful room! It is not only HRD's design services that set it apart, but also their project management skills. HRD has a wide network of trades - from cabinetry to carpentry, stairs to sofas, flooring to fireplaces - that are consulted as necessary and seamlessly coordinated. Even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, HRD worked tirelessly to ensure our renovations kept to our timelines. We can't wait to begin our next project with HRD as we look to update our formal living room and office next!

Gut renovating a home is a daunting task in and of itself. Add decorating that home and it becomes an insurmountable task. As a homeowner one does not always possess the skill of understanding a space and what is necessary in order to make that space your own. I retained the services of Heather Ryder from the outset before we had even started construction. It made the exprience enjoyable and the end result was a stunning home that my family will continue to enjoy for years to come. She was Involved with the architectural and construction part of the design and then while the home was going through construction she came up with a design scheme off of which she was able to outfit my entire six bedroom home with furniture and lighting in less than five months. Always looking for new Inspiration she would come up with multiple design schemes for each room from which I could choose allowing me to play an integral part in the design of my own home. She was a pleasure to work with, extremely reliable and stood behind her work. I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation.

After 30 years of reupholstering old hand me down furniture several times over and over again and living with old dated jewel toned colors I really didn’t like anymore, I decided it was high time to get an interior designer to really help me create a living room space I loved. Heather was absolutely wonderful to work with and she helped me realize my dream of LOVING my space! She is patient, has a great eye for color and texture and understands how hard it is for most of us to see the “vision,” but eventually we got there and I couldn’t be happier. I definitely had a budget and Heather did her best to stay within that range. I gave her my ideas on color palette of choice, and Heather took it from there and gave me specific suggestions on wall color paint, fabric options, new furniture styles, furniture placement as well as lighting and accent pieces. She also helped me with some lighting changes in my kitchen and other strategic accent fabrics throughout my home to bring everything together. I also felt like Heather was the kind of designer who knew that I really wanted to “live” in my space and enjoy it and not have it be a showroom where we’d be afraid to entertain in. I would highly recommend Heather Ryder to anyone who Is looking for an interior designer who listens and will make your dream come true!
